I worship at the altar of no man but God Jesus.
Here on earth, well short of heaven, we must now live.
I reflect that the Americans indulge a whimsically silly, faux Deification, of various public servants who all fall laughably so short of God.
And, yet, here on earth you and I live and we yearn to see men lead us who are just a smidgen less short of God than are all the others.
The corruption at Washington today is so ubiquitous, so all-pervasive, that I still shake my head and wonder, as I read again his words to us today, how Mr. Reagan was ever elected President in 1980.
Reagan most certainly could not be elected today. He was willing to take on all the elements of the corrupt machine~~not just one or two~~all of them.
He is of course sorely missed today~~all the more so because I can’t think that he, or anyone even remotely like him, will ever appear again on the American political stage.
It is so sad to reflect how much America has changed since 1980. For instance, had Mr. Romney in 2012 faced the same American demographic, Mr. Romney would have won election~~massively, and in numbers far greater than did Mr. Reagan in 1980.
Mr. Reagan could not be elected today
A remarkable sea change has occurred in those short 35 years.
This sea change I cannot possibly think is for the better for America and Her culture.
Sad above all to consider that we are left now with men who fall farther and farther short of God than ever before
In a way, Mr Reagan spoiled us, as he put into our minds the notion that America could be a better place and that the corruption at this city could, with hard work and dedication, be turned ’round.
We yearn for him more and more but we know in our hearts that he is not only gone from us but that wonderful promise he held out for us to have a better life free of Washington’s invidious corruptions, left forever with him.
We know that our dream for his return in another man’s form can be ever only but a dream and we feel saddened very much by that realization.
Yes, Mr. Reagan spoiled us.
Most likely forever
But God Jesus, it was grand to be spoiled by likes of him

He says out loud what many people think deep down, and what the politicians refrain from saying because they are either too demagogic or too chicken. Le Pen, with all his faults and qualities, is probably the only one who thinks about the interests of France before his own."~~ French actor~~Alain Delon
