Dick Morris has become simply a different sort of Karl Rove and Rovism now dominates the strategies of both Parties.
But Rovists are horse race trainers who write notes to mass audiences who are not in the racing business and Rovists send racehorses out to win photo finishes, because they think photo finishes are exciting and entertaining, when they could win Secretariat-like Belmont blow outs, which are really exciting and entertaining.
Basically, Rovisits are trying to sell newspapers and to do so, they need to pretend there is going to be a humdinger of a horse race when there ain’t gonna be.
I can’t imagine how even these Rovists have missed the point of the past election, after which, in addition to the high school lay up States I always control, I now have Governors mansions in all of these, ice blue, States:

Just what do you think this means? That my Party is in trouble?
Governors are mini-Presidents. They can move the needle many clicks in a Presidential race. Very evidently, a large, and electorally potent, number of voters in deep blue States have decided to elect Republican mini-Presidents.
That result from my little southern Confederate States Party of dying white boys, I can assure you worries Democratic strategists here at this city far more so than it does mine.
Not to mention that I now have the House and the Senate and virtually all State legislatures that matter–likely the second most important ingredient of all in politics–given that after the next Census–which is THE most important element in politics–an element virtually nobody outside this city understands at all–we get to gerryrig so many more House seats that the Democrats will never control that body again.
The Census, more so than any other element in politics, wins elections. Most Americans barely know what the Census is, never mind what it means.
Most Americans are children–if they think about the Census at all, they have some “Little Town of Bethlehem” notion of counting all the babies.
WRONG. The Census is about RAW power–it enables the winners in the Census to rig, which is to say steal, Congressional districts to the point where, for a current example, the VERY next time the Democrats can hope to take control of the Lower House is January 2023..and don’t daydream about that because the Lower House is now in a box in which it is going to be extremely hard to take away from me for decades..if ever…envision as a basic tutorial that in order for the Democrats to win the next Census–there would have to be a massive population movement OUT of RED States, back INTO North Eastern BLUE States.
Do you see that happening? Thank you.
I wish that you would pay attention to real numbers about real voters instead of these notes from the photo finish crowd who will be predicting a tight race right up to the end in 2016, a year which has all the earmarks of a remarkable blowout for my side.
Recall that in 1980, less than a week before the election, many Morris/Rove nervous Nelly types were still calling Reagan/ Carter “too close to call” or even giving the edge to Carter.
All the big blowout elections of our lifetimes: Ike 52, 56, Nixon 68, 72, Reagan 80, 84 have occurred when white America has abandoned the Democrats.
With the exception of LBJ, no Democrat has ever won a blowout in my lifetime. It is the Democrats who win close races in which they barely hold on at the wire, not my Party.
For real numbers and their meaning, read this and while reading this think: each 1% of white voters is worth right at 10 million votes. 10 million.:
