King George III fought a rather silly war with His American Subjects, which He lost.

For his perceived follies as a Monarch, King George III spent the last 20 years or so of a 60 year reign, in almost total sequestration, largely stripped of His Authorities.

I speak to trees and give them names.

I was baptized John Theophilus Begg.

On Holy Confirmation, I took the name Daniel and became John Theophilus Daniel Begg.

Theophilus derives from the very first line of ACTS:

“Excellent Theophilus, Beloved of God!!”

Lawyers, God Bless them, thought that Theophilus sounded suspicious after September 11, 2001, as it might be construed as a Muhammadan name!!!

As a consequence, all my requisite documents were legally expunged and I am now: JOHN DANIEL BEGG

You now know all this, dears, in order to fully understand the origins of the name of my beloved little tree~~~now 22 feet tall, who I raised from a pup, less even than a baby sapling, who I baptized Theophilus, Beloved of both myself and God.

His nickname is THEO and I do love him very much indeed.

I sit and talk to him often.

We have great chats.

He gives me advise to which I caution.

Theo needs no advise from me in reciprocity.

He is a tree.

He already knows all it is necessary for a tree to know.

I like trees.

I find trees a great comfort.

Trees listen attentively, despite one’s rambling on, for hours.

Trees are polite.

Trees are true and trusty friends.

Trees are shady, true.

But trees are not shady in the sense that people are shady.

The affections of trees are ever constant.

Trees never disappoint.

I hope that, what authorities I have, are not later stripped of me, for my enjoying so, the company of trees and for my speaking to them, and giving them names.

But, if it came to it, if I had to choose between my associations with people or with my trees:

I would surely chose my trees.

I like my trees.

Trees have paths that lead to them.

This is Theo’s path, which runs from the back of the house, the giant, ancient, green trees towering over my special friend Theo.

All these giant trees have names as well but:

Man is a very prejudiced creature, which is a very good thing~~that capacity to discern preferences, as Man prefers one thing over another.

In consequence, Theo, whom I most prefer, towers above the very trees that tower above him, as he is my favorite.
