A savage, terrible time and act–little known to the Americans–or anyone else for that matter:
I thank my dear friend SK William Graham for calling my attention to the 120th anniversary of this horror.
It was on this date in 1915, that the Armenian Genocide begins with the arrest of 250 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in Istanbul.
The Armenian Genocide was perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks under the Three Pashas: Talaat Pasha, Djemal Pasha, and Enver Pasha.
The genocide claimed the lives of 1,500,000 Armenian Christians, about 750,000 Greek Christians, and about 300,000 Assyrian Christians.
The reason they were killed was simply because they were Christian and the Ottomans were Muslim.
The 1,500,000 Armenians, about 750,000 Greeks, and about 300,000 Assyrians died for their faith in Jesus.
On November 3,1918, 8 days before World War I ended, the Three Pashas fled.
All three met a violent end: Talaat was killed by Soghomon Tehlirian in Berlin on March 15,1921. Tehlirian was an Armenian genocide survivor who lost 85 family members.
On July 21,1922, Djemal was killed by Armenians Stepan Dzaghigian, Artashes Gevorgyan, and Petros Ter Poghosyan, and two weeks later on August 4, Enver was killed in a surprise attack by the Red Army Bashkir cavalry brigade under the command of Yakov Melkumov.
The Genocide continued until about 1923. To this day, Turkey refuses to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide even though many countries and institutions like the Catholic Church acknowledge it.
105 years today since this genocide.
Let this sadness never be forgotten.

The escape commences…~~September, 1957~~Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic parochial school, called, by anyone of any background, simply: “Chan~al,” a place where, of an autumn day in 1957, school, for me, began and ended in the first convening of the first grade in which a tiny nun, one Sister Dom Bosco, appeared before me, just behind the window appearing at far left of this photograph, and piped out this: “I may be small, but so then, is the Atom Bomb.”~~My determination to escape school commenced immediately on hearing about this Atom Bomb business and took 16 dicey and arduous years to finally accomplish.~~~~Non Sibi
