The Americans engage in a sadomasochistic interchange with American politicians.

The American citizen pays to be abused.

The Americans choose to be abused.

As with all Americans, I have long held that politicians are cheap whores on the fiddle and that any difference between one politician and the other is down to what, I suppose, can be called one’s particular taste in hookers.

At this, rather late, stage, I stand more in contempt of the Americans than I do of their politicians.

After all, politicians did not appear via spontaneous combustion.

The Americans selected them, indeed, created them, freely, actively, willingly.

The Americans selected particular, for them more appealing, prostitutes from the great mass of other available working girls.

The Americans picked their politicians out from under their favorite lamppost, suggesting at least, some degree of, at least transitory, interest, in the girl they picked and paid for.

Suggesting an endorsement of the particular girl, of some sort or the other.

The politician is simply doing her job: a whore for hire, diddling the Americans for money in the form of votes.

The Americans on the other hand are the ones who, by voting, actively endorse and purchase the politicians who come to this blighted city and given that conscious and habitual transaction, the Americans are far more ridiculous than are the working girls they rent by the hour.

At Washington, capital city of the terminally self-absorbed, mortal man holds to fleeting, feeble and fallible opinion, God immutable fact.
