I rent out temporary access to my mind.

~~
Sometimes, night-time barman, too.
~~
I pour drinks to fill up lonely, unimaginative men, in wretched suits and far worse ties, who think my concoctions are clever.
~~
My customers pray to be other men, as they do not like themselves.
~~
Nobody likes himself.
~~
In America, in the modern West, this thought troubles us:
~~
The thought that nobody wants to be who they are.
~~
We think that’s unfair, but it’s not.
~~
I am paid today for my thoughts on America and modern Western Civilization, by a man who has:
~~
Too much money and no intellect.
~~
I am envied by others who think I have all sorts of a swell job as I :
~~
Get to do what I want all day and night-time too.
~~
But, they are wrong.
~~
I am not free to do what I want.
~~
I am paid to do and think what others tell me to think and do.
~~
I am not free.
~~
I do not even pretend.
~~
Freedom to do, and think, what one wants is:
~~
A fantasy of Western man in the modern era.
~~
This notion that modern man is free to do as he pleases is a mirage.
~~
Some men say that they desire most:
~~
A society that is FREE.
~~
Their desire suggests to me:
~~
Chaos.
~~
I desire most a society that is:
~~
Polite and well~ordered.
~~
That suggests to me:
~~
Peace, tranquility and stability.
~~
Man in America and the West today desires:
~~
A dazzling bar set with enticing, intoxicating , liquids that are:
~~
Simply:
~~
Not there.
~~
So, sorry,
~~
Bar is closed.
~~
I told him, who paid me to say it,  that the:
~~
Modern West and America and founded upon a fantasy:
~~
A lie.
~~
A man-made world based upon a False Premise, and an IMPLICIT promise to slack the thirst of:
~~
A
~~
False Desire.
~~
The false notion that a man can be that which:
~~
He simply is not.
~~
A further reach, to the Implicit notion, that:
~~
That, above all, man is equal and that, above all still, that man is Free.
~~
That is the fallacy sold to America and the developed West for so long now that nobody dares to question it.
~~
I question it.
~~
I question the fallacy explicit and implicit.
~~
As we live in a world of contrived delusion, all men are:
~~
Unhappy.
~~
All men of America and the Developed West, living in their fallacy, in their fantasy. wish they were:
~~
Another man, instead.
~~
From the bottom to the top, from the top to the bottom we all wish to be:
~~
Another man instead.
~~
The slave of the fields wishes he were free.
~~
The freedman wishes he were rich.
~~
Meantime, waiting, impatiently for–between now and rich,
~~
The freedman:
~~
Dreams
~~
And builds things for–Mr Rockefeller:
The rich man wishes he were The Rockefeller.
~~
The Rockefeller himself wishes he were the King of the English.
~~
The English King wishes he were the infallible Pope of Rome.
~~
The infallible Pope of Rome wishes he were Immortal, Almighty God,
~~
Instead of merely being:
~~
The Infallible Pope of Rome.
~~
But the wish is never granted.
~~
Not for any of us.
~~
We pray on our knees:
~~
“May God please grant me $10 thousands.”
~~
We pray on our knees that God may grant me:
~~
$10 millions.
~~
$10 Billions.
~~
I told a man who paid to hear it said,
~~
Just yesterday, Sir, that:
~~
“One day, very soon, Sir, sure as you’re born, Sir, we shall have our very first…Trillionaire.
~~
It’s inevitable, Sir, Yes, Sir, sure as you’re born, Sir,
~~
Our very first Trillionaire.
~~
A man, whose  very first act then, will be to drop to his knees and pray God to grant him:
~~
$10 Trillions.”
~~
Man is so desperate to be free, to be~~the equal to~~to be~~the greater than equal to~~that:
~~
He grabs at reeds on the river bank.
~~
When in truth,
~~
The only Freedom and Equality man will ever find is not here:
~~
Rather, it is here:
File:SleepyHollowNY-entrance.jpg
Here we join Mr. Rockefeller at rest:
~~
As his full equal.
~~
Here alone is America’s and Western Man’s
~~
Freedom and Equality.
~~
As I am paid by the glass I pour, I will write more on America and the West later on a bit, but as I am not yet on call, I will now talk instead about:
~~
My feet.
~~
I do not look down at my feet, the pavement beneath is, a lonely place:
I look up at the Moon.
~~
Long ago and far away now, our Mr Maugham wrote to us a beautiful book called:
The Moon and Sixpence.
~~
I recommend that book to you, Sir, I do. Sir.
~~
A critic of his day, wrote of Mr. Maugham’s beautiful work that it,
~~
“Recalls for us the old adage that,~~
If you look up at the Moon,
~~
You’ll miss the sixpence at your feet.
~~
Or is it rather that:
~~
If you look down at your feet,
~~
Hoping for:
~~
Free sixpence at your feet, you’ll miss seeing the lovely moon?”
l
~~
Asked by a reporter, for the Times,  if the critic got it right in one, or maybe two, our Mr. Maugham winked and said:
~~
“All far too clever for me, that is,
~~
I’ve no idea what I meant to say,
~~
It’s all been changed ’round:
~~
By other people”
~~
Mr. Maugham was a stitch.
~~
His comments about the:
~~
“The jackassery, the hyenas, of the press services,”
~~
Tickles me today–close to the bone.
~~
Likewise, Mr. Maugham’s identification of:
~~
“The Supreme Idiocy–To ever ask the writer:–Is your writing autobiographical?”
~~
Supreme idiocy because there is no whole cloth–there is only man’s memory–of himself, of his friends, of family stories, of anecdote, of his readings and of foreigners met.
~~
There can be no equivocation:
~~
All writing is derivative of experience, hence, it is always:
~~
Supreme Idiocy to ask of a writer:
~~
Is your writing autobiographical?
~~
It is true, today that I live now a life, largely sequestered, away.
~~
At least:
~~
Somewhat.
~~
By choice.
~~
This was not always so.
~~
In my youth, I was what I think, is called:
~~
The gai playboy.
~~
Today,
~~
My mind is my singular fascination.
~~
It has never failed to fascinate me..ever since I was a very little boy:
1471397_417509375043013_781050903_n
I live inside it always.
~~
When all else has fled me, my mind is a hand companion all day and all night.
~~
My lovely, darling, daughter, Elizabeth Leigh, is autistic.
~~
Suspended forever, in my memory, place and time, in her wee youth, when she left this world, for another world, of her own design.
246470_191231347670818_299213664_n
When Elizabeth Leigh was first diagnosed, many, many years ago now, I was given a paper by a panel of doctors that was typed to 34 pages and that made–absolutely:
~~
No sense, whatsoever.
~~
At a meeting the following week, I said this to the board of doctors, assembled:
~~
“Doctors, I know more of the English language than you could, collective with all your profession, ever dream to know.
~~
Your paper is meaningless.
~~
Thankfully for me, I know what autism is:
~~
Autism is a sequestration into one’s self.
~~
The autistic one finds, her own mind, an endless font of personal satisfaction.
~~
The autistic one needs no one else in their life.
~~
Their own mind fascinates them.
~~
It is beautiful.
~~
It is, of itself, complete perfection.
~~
She needs no one else and hence:
~~
No one else is permitted inside:
~~
The boundaries of:
~~
Her mind.
~~
Do not pity the autistic one, envy her as:
~~
You and I must live in the world, a far, far, removal from living in our mind.
~~
Pity us, you and I.
~~
Pity not the autistic one.
~~
She is complete within herself.
~~
She needs no one.
~~
We are forever incomplete:
~~
Outside ourselves.
~~
We are hopeless, we need:
~~
Everyone.
~~
In:
The very lonely place~~in which we live.~~
~~
I must live at the call of others, as their barman, as, my customers lack interesting minds, and so:
~~
They pay me, for a time, to be:
~~
In my mind, instead.
~~
The price paid to barman is never the proper cost.
~~
We pour drinks for other, very thirsty,  men, who leave us tiny tips.
~~
Proving for us, at this night’s end, the sole and singular lesson of The Americans  and of Western Civilization:
~~
That:
~~
Try as he most mightily does,
~~
A man can simply never be:
~~
That which, he is not.
Image
Nana Maternal
~~
I went to a great deal of school myself, God knows, and ignored all of it as it was an endless stream of gibberish, all of which, I’d been, early on taught to ignore, thank God once again, by Nana Maternal Herself.
~~
My singular frustration, at school and in life, has come in my observing how readily man simply accepts any and all he is told at school and in life:
~~
Without any questions…asked by him….at all.
~~
Be that, up at:
~~
Ha-vad College,
~~
Or:
~~
Anywhere else.
~~
Man today is so horribly trained that he never thinks to ask fundamental questions:
~~
Man never independently inquires today.
~~
Many today pride themselves on decrying:
~~
“The lack of proper critical thinking in America and the West.”
~~
And when they do so decry that lack, my ears prick up:
~~
As, I decry that absence of critical thought so very much as well:
~~
Only to my great dismay to find out that:
~~
They don’t really mean it, as:
~~
Right after saying that they so decry the lack of critical thinking today, the ones who decry this:
~~
ALWAYS
~~
Immediately proceed to repeat some silly, infantile, version of:
~~
THE LIE OF THE WEST:
~~
Which is that:
~~
A man can be something that:
~~
He simply is not.
~~
This is why it is such a vexation to watch how man, God’s Highest Creature, simply does what he is told and believes what he is taught to believe and think and never, does…
~~
A hand go up in class asking:
HEY!!
~~
Wait a minute…
~~
What if the founding premise of America and of the West for the past 200 years is:
~~
SIMPLY WRONG??
~~
That is:
~~
What if Man neither can rule himself, nor wants to rule himself?
~~
That is the fundamental question:
~~
The question that is NEVER asked.
~~
All that I know of life, of consequence, was taught me by:
~~
Nana Maternal:
~~
Who said to me:
~~
“Little Giovanni, a man can simply never be:
~~
That which he is not.”
~~
Nana taught me of society, of which:
The social frictions so self-evident, so irremediable, in our restless social groupings, suggest a greater collective friction in Western society:
~~
A friction brought about by a LIE.
~~
What is the LIE?
~~
I’ll tell it,:
~~
As, I have come to suspect, that no one else has even thought of it:
~~
Recall from your history books that the notion of representative government, put into active practice, is only 200 years old.
~~
No one of the West, but for myself and perhaps a very few of others, even questions the underlying premise of that notion.
~~
Nevertheless, the notion is a LIE:
~~
It’s underlying premise is a hideous thought which is that:
~~
“All Men are Created Equal”
~~
Which has come to mean, as a practical application, that:
~~
“All Men ARE equal.”
~~
It is  neither self-evident that all men are CREATED equal, nor that all men ARE equal, or that, by extension of twisted modern logic:
~~
We can all be:
~~
Whomsoever, we desire to be.
~~
The attitudes of the West were driven by the Philosophy of the Enlightenment.
~~
Which argued EXPLICITLY that:
~~
Man has rights, man is free, man should have deliberative political capacity.
~~
America and France hit, pretty well simultaneously, at the modern idea of The West, derivative of the Enlightenment.
~~
That EXPLICIT notion is well and good, as far as it goes,
~~
The trouble is that it doesn’t really go anywhere at all except to an:
~~
IMPLICIT construct that so roils the waters of the American and Western European polity today.
~~
These roiled waters very much alarmed the American Founders, who in point of fact, very much feared, universal representative government.
~~
Mr Madison mused that if elective participation were open to the pagan red man, would this not lead to terrible mischief, to include, the ascendancy of the absolutely wrong sort of people and to the massive buying of the pagan red man’s votes by unscrupulous politicians.
~~
So, we see the trouble is with the IMPLICIT promise of the West that suggests to everyone that they can all live their dream:
~~
When of course, they manifestly cannot do so~~which leads to just the sort of nasty social distemper that America and the West now experience.
~~
We must ask:
~~
Is universal Democracy truly a good idea?
~~
I mean to say:
~~
The notion:
~~
That all men have a God-Given right to participate in their own self-rule and governance.
~~
What if,:
~~
It is simply not true that:
~~
All men are created equal, or that:
~~
Man has any right to, or any desire for, self-rule and governance?
~~
Of which, Napoleon had illustrative things to say:
**The people have no notion of how to rule themselves and no desire at all to do so.**
~~
Very well said, Emperor, very well said.
~~
Let us consider:
~~
What if the Napoleonic notion is correct?
~~
What if the notion of the modern West is simply:
~~
WRONG?
~~
The great nervous breakdown of our century, here commences:
The Great War~~that never, ever ends:
~~
A progression in what, school teachers call, the:
~~
**ADVANCEMENT OF MAN**
~~
The endless warfare and mayhem that has attended the notion of self-government that derives from that lie, from that fundamental, IMPLICIT, fallacy, is sad and explicit testament to the LIE inherent in the notion of self-governance:
~~
Murder and mayhem have been the constant hand companion to what, the West persists in calling:
~~
“The advancement of man.”
~~
I cannot say if man were happier before being visited with the notion that he has the right, inalienable, to advance the social ladders:
~~
But I can most emphatically, say this:
~~
Man is NOT better off.
~~
Man has not ADVANCED.
~~
Upon the basis of the:
~~
The notion of universal, democratic self-governance, which suggests that man wants to, and can, rule himself.
~~
A notion very high-sounding:
~~
Likewise too:
~~
A notion:
~~
That is an error and a fallacy.
~~
  A fallacy that can never refute the truth of life from conception, ever onward , which is that:
~~
One can simply never be, what one is not.
~~
All of which brings us, of course, to:
 Just married: The official portrait of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh after their wedding ceremony
Princess Lilibet at her wedding, soon after to be:
~~
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who:
~~
Has been a wonderful Queen and a remarkable example of perfect public deportment in a world now gone altogether:
~~
OFF THE RAILS.
~~
Her Majesty’s perfect example to us has but for one blemish, but that blemish is most serious.
~~
I do not know if Her Majesty has ever thought of this but:
~~
It is terribly important that She realize that she needs to be a Catholic and that likewise does Her Nation of England.
~~
What is more, it is well within Her Majesty’s authority to return Her Family and Her Nation back to God’s Holy Church, as :
It was Her Majesty’s ancestor, King Henry VIII, who:
~~
Took it upon Himself to leave the Holy Church, in a caprice and a whimsy….over a trifle to do with a Spainish girl, and it follows:
~~
By proper extension of logic that:
~~
Her Majesty can, as Queen and Heir to King Henry, undo that grave damage to Her Crown and country and return to the Roman Church, which, under Henry VIII, was ruled by this man:
His Holiness: Pope Clement VII
Britain's Queen Elizabeth talks with Pope Francis during a meeting at the Vatican April 3, 2014. REUTERS/Stefano Rellandini (VATICAN - Tags: RELIGION ROYALS TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY)
All of Europe was, for centuries, Catholic.  Latin was the universal language of The Church, of The Crown, of the educated man everywhere and of commerce and of the diplomat.  Society was ordered and did not signal to the people false promises, or contrived great expectations, suggesting to the people that they could be that which, they simply, could not be.  If, now today, Her Majesty would be so kind as to return Her Realm to the Holy Catholic Church, from, whence it came, it would be a great favor to the people of the West who:
~~
Are so sorely vexed by modern life and who:
~~
Do not properly understand why they are so vexed.
~~
The American people, and all the people of the West, are so sorely vexed today because their very notion of themselves, as  modern nation states, runs contrary to the proper and natural order of society.
Mr. Washington
~~
The Americans came from Europe, where:
~~
Before the trouble wrought by King Henry VIII,
~~
Everyone:
~~~
Was ruled by a Catholic King or Emperor.
~~
America’s first President was thought by most in his day to be a King and he should have been, as:
~~
A King, as the history of America and The West, teaches us is:
~~
Most very much:
~~
Integral to…
~~
The proper order of Society:
~~
Which order is simply this:
~~
In three parts:
~~
God
~~
A Catholic King and His Nobility.
~~
And:
~~
A Happy, Catholic People.
~~
If we all understand this properly, we will likewise know why we are so unhappy today, in America and West Europe, having now experienced and struggled with 200 years of the:
~~
 Great Fallacy that:
~~
Man either can:
~~
Or even desires to:
~~
Rule Himself.
~~
All of us, now caught up in the nasty web of the singular fallacy of the West:
~~
The notion that man wants to rule himself and that man can rule himself.
~~
A Notion:
~~
That is the big mistake of representative, democratic self-governance.
~~
A mistake and a fallacy that can never refute the natural truth of life, which is that:
~~
One can simply never be, that which, one is not.
~~
That fallacy is:
~~
A horrid conceit and vanity:
~~
That can only lead to trouble, anger and frustration for the people.
~~
A man can simply never be:
~~
That which he is not.
~~
To pretend otherwise is an awful thought to an educated man:
~~
I cannot even imagine how terrible that thought must be:
~~
To pretend to be:
~~
That which one is:
~~
NOT.
A Pagan Vanity.
"Jean-Marie Le Pen is a friend. He is dangerous for the political set because he's the only one who's sincere. He says out loud what many people think deep down, and what the politicians refrain from saying because they are either too demagogic or too chicken. Le Pen, with all his faults and qualities, is probably the only one who thinks about the interests of France before his own."~~
