Our time of fast and prayer begins now.

Let us prepare ourselves for Easter Sunday, forty days hence, on which glorious Resurrection Morn, Jesus Christ assured for us the potentiality of Eternal Salvation with Him in Heaven.

As Jews of old sometimes yearned for the flesh-pots of Egypt, so does the modern man look back regretfully at what he thought was a paradise on earth, when poets sang “glory to man in the highest,” when evolution promised to make each of us gods, and philosophers taught man was the measure of all things, when novelists pictured a “Brave New World,” when education, politics, and economics no longer needed religion, and when the laws of progress guaranteed us a world without a Cross.”
