I always caution girls who walk by pretty houses and say to me–oh, i wish i were the senora of that house over there !!! that–you never say you want to be someone other than whom you are–you have no idea what the lives of other people are really like behind closed doors–so, while we all know what envy feels like, envy is both a terrible sin and a silly vanity because we do not know what we actually are envious of. We cannot see past the front door of the pretty house we envy into the interior where the life of the house plays out–you just might be horrified if you ever caught a glimpse of what life is like inside the pretty house.
